It is with great sadness yet with hope in the resurrection, that Hellenic College Holy Cross announces the passing of Rev. Fr. Thomas FitzGerald, ThD, on December 29, 2024. Fr. FitzGerald dedicated nearly five decades to our school as Professor of Church History and Historical Theology from 1974 to 2022 and held the position of Dean of Holy Cross for nearly a decade, with terms spanning from 2006–2013 and 2018–2019.May his memory be eternal!libraries.long8cl.com/statement-on-the-passing-of-rev-dr-thomas-fitzgerald/28 CommentsComment on Facebook

On Wednesday, January 1st, His Grace Bishop Joachim of Amissos presided over the Divine Liturgy of St. Basil for the feast day of the saint. Together with His Grace Bishop Anthony of Synada, at the end of the Liturgy they conducted a Trisagion service for the recently departed Fr. Thomas Fitzgerald who served as a faculty member and the Dean of Holy Cross for several years.

After a temporary medical leave, Dean, Rev. Dr. Eugen J. Pentiuc, will be returning to his decanal duties on January 7, 2025.
